Federer the first man to win 300 Grand Slam matches

Roger Federer the first to win 300 grand slam matches. he was already a long way clear at the top of the list of men with the most wins in Grand Slam singles matches. Federer reached this achievement  on Friday when he moved into the 4th round of the Australian Open with a 6-4 3-6 6-1 6-4 victory over Grigor Dimitrov. Roger is now aiming for an 18th major title.



Federer finds his clinical edge
Federer had won a tight battle against Dimitrov in Brisbane but he was a more comfortable winner on the bigger Grand Slam stage. Both men displayed the elegant shot making for in which they are known.
Federer speaks
"Grigor was playing well and I thought I was struggling a little bit," said Roger Federer, who plays Belgian David Goffin in round four. "It was an important start to the third set. Thankfully I got the early break and was able to stay in the lead."
